Hello Beautiful

Welcome to Trippy Monday’s, where I go over 3 things that caught my attention from this past week. Enjoy!

(1) I decided to travel outside of my immediate area to go on a hike this weekend. I asked a couple of friends if they wanted to go with me, but they were all busy, so I ended up going solo, which I’m happy about in retrospect. Being alone in nature helps me connect with the earth and helps me remember that we’re not separate from nature, but rather part of nature.

It’s easy to see the beauty in nature. The trees, flowers, rivers, and lakes don’t try to be beautiful, they just are, because nature IS beautiful. When we remember that we are part of nature, it’s easier to remember that we are also all beautiful, just the way we are. There’s nothing else we need to do or accomplish in our lives to be any more beautiful or worthy of love, other than just exist as we are.

(2) I didn’t write a Trippy Monday post last week, but I did post on my blog, which I haven’t done in a while. I wrote about what’s going on in my life, specifically how I’ve been handling change in my life recently. Go check it out if you’re interested: https://tripsitting.blog/change-is-hard-sometimes/

(3) I’ve been giving myself some time to rest and do absolutely nothing this past week and boy do I feel like I needed it. I know how important rest is, but sometimes even when I give myself the space to rest, I’m still thinking about what I need to do afterward, which means I’m not actually resting. I’m still working on getting out of the mindset that I always need to be doing things. The ironic thing is that truly resting makes me feel more motivated to then go do the things I want to do. Subconsciously, though, I still feel guilty when I’m not doing things all the time. This is all part of my integration and I’ll continue to work through it until I find the balance, which I have no doubt I will.
