Welcome to Trippy Monday’s, where I go over 3 things that caught my attention from this past week. Enjoy!
(1) My grandfather called me after he found my LinkedIn and saw that I’d attached my name to businesses surrounding psychedelics. He wasn’t very pleased, to say the least. I’ll spare the details, but he was essentially telling me that I’m ruining my life by going down this path and that I don’t have any understanding of what I’m talking about. He may be right, but at the same time not once did he ask me any questions about what I’m doing without immediately cutting me off to express his opinion. Nothing he said came from a place of curiosity, it was all from a place of judgment.
It obviously sucks knowing there are people in my life that don’t support me, but that’s also just part of life. What he doesn’t realize is that if I wasn’t talking about psychedelics and mental health like I am, I would actually end up much worse off because I wouldn’t be allowing myself to be authentic. When you speak your truth, people in your life are going to disagree, and you need to be okay with that. I ended the call by telling him I appreciated him expressing his opinion and that I loved him, which are both true. But just because I listened to him and love him doesn’t mean that I need to agree with him or even speak with him in the future regarding anything I’m up to. Family is complicated, but it’s important to set boundaries in order to protect your energy. I’m confident in what I’m doing and that it’s coming from a place of love, so if people in my life don’t support me, so be it.
(2) I completely redid my website to make it easier to navigate my posts and add a bit more organization to everything. I’m not a website designer by any means, but I’m proud of myself for just figuring out how to do it all, and I’m super stoked with how it turned out.
That being said, I also love feedback and am open to continually changing things around, so if you want to check it out and let me know what you think, that would be greatly appreciated 🙂

(3) I went to a mushroom cultivation workshop on Saturday without many expectations. I found the event through a group on Meetup called Psychedelic Club of Denver, and I’m so happy I did. I learned a lot about growing mushrooms, which is obviously one of the reasons I was there, but more than that the feeling of being surrounded by other like-minded people carried a certain energy that was very welcomed. I became a member of the group after the event and look forward to more of their events and being able to meet more people within the psychedelic community here.
I also got to take home an inoculated all-in-one grow bag, so I’ll be sure to keep you all updated on how the growth goes. If everything goes according to plan, I should have my very own home-grown mushrooms in about 2ish months.
