Feeling Off, Going Away, and the Super Bowl

Welcome to Trippy Monday’s, where I go over 3 things that caught my attention from this past week. Enjoy!

(1) One day in particular last week just felt off. And not just a little off, I felt incredibly anxious and pretty terrible almost the entire day. When I woke up I knew something was up, but I thought I would simply figure it out sooner or later. The more time I spent sitting with it trying to figure it out, the worse it got. It wasn’t until I called one of my best friends and spoke with her that the feeling started to shift. After we spoke, I hung up and phone and just started sobbing.

Let me tell you, I felt sooooo much better afterward. All I needed was to allow myself to feel whatever I was feeling without trying to figure out the reason behind it. Speaking with my friend gave me the space to do that. This made me think of how important it is to have some sort of support system or community of people you trust around you. Life is much better with friends :).

(2) My roommates and I threw a going away party on Saturday night as all of us are moving out of the current place we’ve lived for the past 2 years. The 3 of them are moving to different places in Chicago, while I’m moving to Denver.

It was great to see a lot of my friends I’ve made here one last time before I move out of the city. It made me so grateful for the time I’ve spent here, yet it was bittersweet at the same time. Goodbyes are never easy, but they made me appreciate how precious our time is and how things will constantly be changing.

(3) The ending of the Super Bowl fucking sucked. Overall, it was an incredible game and I enjoyed watching it, along with Rihanna’s halftime performance. She is an absolute queen. However, to have the game be decided by the refs on a very questionable call is never how you want to see a game like that end. Now that the season is over, I look forward to seeing how my Packers will handle this offseason and what Aaron Rodgers decides.
