Mother Nature Knows What’s Up

Welcome to Trippy Monday’s, where I go over 3 things that caught my attention from this past week. Enjoy!

(1) “Comparison is the thief of joy” – Theodore Roosevelt

I came across this quote, and it resonated with me a lot right now. It’s easy for me to get caught up with what other people are doing, whether it be other podcasters, people in the psychedelic space, or even just my friends who are on their own paths. This quote is a great reminder to focus on me and not compare myself to others. Regardless of what others are doing, as long as I keep doing me, I know things will turn out well for me.

(2) I took 5g of mushrooms on Tuesday and had quite the experience. I also recorded my first solo podcast episode in the middle of the trip (check it out here). That’s not what I’m writing about in this newsletter though. I want to talk about what I actually gained from the experience.

The biggest takeaway was that it helped me feel truly grounded in my new home. I feel like I’ve kind of just been going through the motions lately, and it helped me work through that to really feel present again. It feels like it’s go time for me now to start getting my shit together and focus on my goals.

I will also say about this experience that I was surprised I didn’t ego death or lose all of my senses at any point during this trip. Either my ego is incredibly stubborn or I’ve simply killed it so many times that it can no longer die lol. The real answer probably lies somewhere in the middle of that, but it also doesn’t matter at the same time. Onward we go.

(3) I went on a hike this weekend, and it was actually the first hike I’ve been on since I moved here. I cannot fucking believe it took me this long to do this. That aside, being out in nature by myself just hit. I don’t know how else to say it, but if you haven’t been out in nature in a while, you should go. Shout out to Mother Nature. Go hug a tree this week.
