Welcome to Trippy Monday’s, where I go over 3 things that caught my attention from this past week. Enjoy!
(1) The mushrooms I’ve been growing were ready to harvest. These are mushrooms from a bag of mycelium that was gifted to me by someone I know who grows, so all the hard work was already done for me – all I had to do was mix the mycelium grain with substrate and wait. I didn’t really know how they were going to turn out or what they were going to look like, but holy shit did they turn out incredible. These are some of the biggest mushrooms I’ve honestly ever seen.
Besides just having more mushrooms now, it feels really cool being part of the growing process. I definitely feel more of a connection with them in a way that’s hard to describe. I gave them a try this weekend and had an incredible experience, which I’ll most likely write about in a separate post on my blog.
(2) Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse, which is a sequel to the Into the Spider-Verse movie, came out in theaters this week, and you best believe I saw it the very first night I could. The first Spider-Verse movie came out in 2018, but I didn’t see it until the Summer of 2019, and honestly, didn’t know a single thing about it other than the fact that it’s an animated Spiderman movie. I watched it for the first time while on LSD, and had probably the most spiritual experience I’ve ever had while watching a movie that day. The animation goes fucking crazy, the story is truly incredible, and the soundtrack slaps. In my humble opinion, it’s the greatest animated movie ever made, and also the greatest movie to ever watch on psychedelics.
Needless to say, I’ve formed sort of an emotional bond with this movie since I first saw it. I’m happy to report back that the sequel lived up to all of the insanely high expectations I had for it.
(3) I went camping over the weekend in Twin Lakes, Colorado. This is my first time camping since I moved to Colorado, and it really just affirmed, even more, my decision to move here. Being out in nature and away from everyday life helps me stay grounded. It allows me the opportunity to really appreciate everything I have and get to do, so I’m very excited to continue to have more of these experiences more often.
